From one cozy outlet to a collection of signature locations across the country, Tea Avenue’s journey has been shaped by growth, learning, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
The First Step: Barnes Place
Our story began in 2016 at Barnes Place with a small team of 12 passionate individuals. That first outlet became the heart of Tea Avenue; a place where our identity, values, and atmosphere took shape. It wasn’t long before we found ourselves expanding into new neighborhoods, each with its own character and charm.
Growing Across the City
In 2017, we expanded into two unique environments the bustling World Trade Center and the scenic shores of Marine Drive introducing Tea Avenue to a wider and more diverse audience. By 2019, our presence grew further with the Kotte outlet, quickly becoming a favorite among families, students, and professionals.
Strengthening Our Footprint
In 2020, we continued to strengthen our footprint with new outlets in Colombo 07 and Wattala, reflecting both our resilience and our guests continued love for what we do. The following year, we established Jawatta as our new main outlet while also opening Kohuwala, adding another warm and welcoming space to our collection.
Expanding South and Beyond
Our southern journey began in 2022 with the Galle outlet, introducing Tea Avenue to new communities and travellers. In 2024, our presence in the historic Galle Fort added a beautiful blend of culture and charm to our story.
New Beginnings in 2025
Now in 2025, we’re embracing fresh beginnings. The launch of our new brand, Daily Brew, in Kandy marks an exciting step into modern tea culture, while our first franchise outlet in Malabe opens new pathways for growth and collaboration.

Today, we proudly operate across Jawatta, Kotte, Pepiliyana, Malabe, Union Place, and Ward Place, along with Daily Brew by Tea Avenue in Kandy.
